The 1999 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster MOMO Edition was launched by Mario Andretti in 1999 at the exclusive Running of the Bulls between Beverly Hills and Monterey. Only 12 Momo Edition cars were ever made. Six were finished in 3-Layer Giallo Flash (pearl yellow) and six in 3-Layer Rosso Vik (metallic red.) The 1999 model year was the last year for the Diablo VT Roadster. (As it is, less than 200 VT Roadsters were ever built for the U.S. market throughout all four years of their production, yet they continue to be as popular and desirable now as they were then. If not more so.) The final year featured fixed, projection-style headlights and a redesigned/updated dash. It retained the Viscous Traction (VT) all wheel drive system, the front end lifting system, along with the 530hp V12 engine with variable valve timing, a removable carbon fiber roof section, etc. This Momo Edition also included the red and yellow leather interior with matching floor mats to recognize the classic Momo color scheme, exposed carbon fiber (c.f.) instrument surround panel and stereo surround, c.f. slats in front of the lower side mounted oil cooler intakes, c.f. taillight surrounds, c.f. engine compartment, a special c.f. Momo gear shift knob, chromed factory Roadster wheels, an Alpine navigation system, nav disc player mounted under the front bonnet, cd changer mounted behind the passenger seat, an external amplifier, a pair of component speakers in the doors, and a subwoofer mounted behind the driver’s seat. This car also includes a car cover, a custom installed K40 hidden radar detection system, and a Stainless Steel Tubi Exhaust System. The Momo Edition Roadsters sold new in 1999 for $333,000. This example with VIN ZA9RU31BXXLA12297 has only traveled 2,958 miles and still remains in nearly brand-new condition throughout.
